About Us

Jade Glass will produce nearly 80,000 tonnes of float glass and value-added products per year, less than 30% of the annual current demand in Afghanistan. Customers will include importers and wholesalers of glass, mainly in northern Afghanistan and Kabul.  Fifteen percent of production is targeted for
export to neighboring countries, primarily Uzbekistan and Tajikistan
Phase I

The Jade Glass Integrated Float Glass Manufacturing and Processing plant is being built in two phases.

(1) Phase I a glass tempering line to start operations in 1Q2020 to provide a low-cost entry into the glass market and to develop a sales base both in Afghanistan and abroad.

Phase II

Phase II consists of the construction of an open-pit mine to provide the critical raw material to the glass plant and a float glass to start operations in 1Q2022 to manufacture clear and colored float glass.

The project is well underway with site development and utilities largely completed 85% of the raw material supply chain, including silica sand, limestone and dolomite, will be sourced from the mine located 10-km from the glass plant.

   Phase II

Feasibility studies and due diligence had been completed and the project is in final review by project lenders, including OPIC/AGF, ADB, FinnFund and IFC.

The due diligence studies were completed by third-part experts for IFC and the other lenders and the findings are highly supportive of the project.  The EIA has been reviewed and approved by NEPA. In short, we have a very exciting project that would be of great value to the Afghan people and the economy.
